In Warcraft Rumble, there are 2 kinds of persistent damage effects, which play a critical role in shaping the flow of combat: Burn and Poison
They stand out as two potent forms of damage over time, capable of gradually wearing down opponents and shifting the balance of power in battle.
This article delves into the mechanics, triggering conditions, and strategic impacts of these two damage types, offering insights on how to harness their full potential in gameplay.
Poison
Deals X elemental damage over 5 seconds (4 * level
damage per 0.5 second tick). Additional application both refresh the duration and keep/add the stack. The maximium stack is 6.
\[\text{damage} = \left( \text{stacks} \times \left( \frac{4 \times \text{level}}{0.5} \right) \right) \times 5 \, \text{secs} \]
Burn
Deals X elemental damage over 8 seconds (30 * level
damage per 1 second tick), no stack. Additional applications refresh the duration.
\[\text{damage} = \left( 30 \times \text{level} \right) \times 8 \, \text{secs} \]
Which is better?
It depends.
Ideally, a full stack of Poison will do more damage than Burn. But it takes time to stack to maximum, and the poison is easier to lose effectiveness.
According to the chart, you will see for more than 3 stack, the DPS of poison is higher than the DPS of burn.
