This week's main update is the referral revenue sharing.
Readers who meet the criteria can recommend newsletters with enabled revenue sharing to others. When a referral brings new subscribers to the author, the referrer earns a commission. The commission percentage is set by the author, and the distribution process is as follows:
flowchart LR payment[Actual Payment] --> price[Price per Unit] payment -- 10% --> JCT[Consumption Tax] price -- 10% --> quail[Quail] price -- Distribution Ratio --> referrer[Referrer] price --> writer[Author]
To use Quail's referral feature, the following conditions must be met:
1. The author has enabled Cryptocurrency payment — Currently, the referral feature only works with cryptocurrency payments, and does not apply to credit cards, WeChat Pay, etc. It can be enabled at "Dashboard - List Settings - Payment - Enable Cryptocurrency Payment":
2. The author has enabled the referral feature and set a commission ratio. The ratio ranges from 1% to 50%. It can be enabled at "Dashboard - List Settings - Payment - Enable Referral":
3. Both the author and the referrer must have an EVM wallet linked on Quail—as this is a prerequisite for receiving commissions. It can be set up at "Top Right Menu - Account - Payout - Cryptocurrency Wallet":
If all the above conditions are met, you can start referring.
After logging into Quail, at the bottom of the Premium page, you will see a referral link. Copy this link and distribute it to others; once they register and pay for a subscription, the referrer's wallet will receive a commission.
If the referral link is valid, the referrer's avatar and name will be displayed during the payment process, which the referred party should note.
The referral status is one-time only, it does not persist. That is, if A refers B and B makes a payment, A will receive a commission. The next time B makes a payment, if they don't use A's link, A will not receive a commission.
That's the update for this week. 📝🚀
